Algarve PortugalOKkkkk – today I discovered what all the fuss is about in the Algarve… I mean holy sh*t – have a look at THIS! It’s Praia Marenha with cove after cove of these magical beaches. Some have steps, others have scary paths, but all are this beautiful. I went down to this one then waded over to a couple more – almost lost my camera to a rogue wave 😳 but managed to survive and take about 500 photos above and below. Ok, probably not that many. But a lot. I’ll have to delete half of them from the beach because I didn’t realize for the first hundred pics that a whole lot of women were topless. Sorry boob-lovers. But you know what they say – once you’ve seen 100 pairs of boobs, you’ve pretty much seen them all.

Anyway, I was going to try to hit three different beach spots today, but I had to sit in the shade on the steps back up for a loooong time after this one, so I’m not sure I have it in me. There is hardly enough water in Portugal to compete with this brutal sun.

And speaking of sun, look at this incredibly cute Airbnb I rented dead center in the old town of Lagos for about $65/night. The shot of white buildings and rooftops was taken from the private terrace on the roof (!). It’s out in the open, so if you sat up here during the day, your brain would boil in your skull. The other patio with the sun shade is just outside the living room and is private too – crazy for the price. Absolutely bonkers.

It seems to me that North Americans have not discovered the Algarve for the most part. I am surrounded by tourists from all over the world, but I almost never hear American English. Not really a bad thing – let’s be honest – Americans can be such assholes when I run into them around the world. LOL. True. Actually, not hearing much English of any kind and really wishing I’d learned some Portuguese… So far I have good morning, thank you, and where’s the bathroom down. Haha. So pretty much nothing. Maybe tomorrow I’ll have picked up something more useful. Oh yeah and I’ve been driving… 😵 I’ll tell you about that later.
